The first 12 years of my life were spent on Mohr street, attending St. Adalbert’s school. The Broadway-Fillmore district has great memories as well. Giza’s deli, Sattler’s, Neisner’s 5 and dime, the Market(of course), Lincoln playground, the ice cream stand on Memorial Drive near Broadway, etc. However, we rarely ventured to the other side of Fillmore to the old Grant’s building. The views from that building are tremendous.
Sometimes looking back and hoping to rekindle that moment in time clouds the current view. My family and I are in West Palm Beach Florida and I wish the clock could be moved back to say…..July of 1975….I was 13 and enjoying what could be the final prime time for Broadway-Fillmore. Ahhhh those days….
